POTHOLES at ART SOUTERRAIN 2012: THE MAKING OF

We were thrilled when we received our letter of acceptance to partake in Art Souterrain. Along with some of our Potholes images which will be exhibited on the walls of the Complexe les Ailes (metro McGill) we are also creating three Potholes installations pieces which will be part performance/installation during the night of Nuit Blanche à Montréal

We are working in collaboration with talented sculptor Véro Dumas who is making our ideas come to life. Here are some photos of the making of so far...

Instalation 1: Quicksand

Mini maquette

Face casting:

Davide wanted to be involved in the process, even though it meant having a mouthful of alginate

Here he is "posing" as the man that is sinking in quicksand

Véro getting into all the cracks

Applying bandages to set the alginate

Mold created from Davide's face

Arm Casting:

Installation # 2

THE OCTOPUS
The octopus before birth

Mini maquette: Octopus
