Exhibit at Galerie D'Avignon

POTHOLES: Davide Luciano et Claudia Ficca
At Galerie D’Avignon from the 8 to 22 of September 2011
Opening reception Wednesday September 14 at 5pm - 7pm
AFTER-PARTY at Baldwin Barmacy 115 Avenue Laurier Ouest

Galerie D’Avignon is pleased to feature the work of artists Davide Luciano and Claudia Ficca as September’s guest exhibition. They will be presenting their wildly successful series Potholes.

Potholes is a series of photographs depicting the concave street cracks and holes as a collection of imaginative tableaux in the city. Captured within the backdrops of Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles, and New York City, the sets explore the urban flaws as a playground creating a multitude of uses out of the potholes. Directly engaging the street, the city, the highly imaginative series transforms the bad into good, creating a tongue-in-cheek collection that is at once contextual and surreal.

Photographers Davide Luciano and Claudia Ficcaʼs Potholes series have seen their work exhibited throughout Canada and the US. They have received international media attention, most recently appearing in Vanity Fair, Le Monde and The Telegraph amongst other world publications. Both artists have received and award of excellence by Ms. Megan Fontanella, curator at the Guggenheim Museum NYC.
All the Potholes photographs and press coverage can be seen at www.mypotholes.com
