Pictures from the opening reception at Pentimento

Everything came together wonderfully for the opening reception of our show at Pentimento Fine Art Gallery. We had the opportunity to see old friends, make new ones and mingle with strangers. We heard pothole horror stories, got tips on where to find the best in the city and even came up with a new scene for our Euro tour! It was a memorable night.

The Amazing Pentimento Team: Martin, Michelle and John. Thank you for having us and for the wonderful reception.

So happy some of the stars made it to the opening!!! Thank you "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Champagne Girls"

Friends and guests mingling and enjoying the show

We would like to send out a special thank you message to all the "Potholes" models. This project would not have been possible without you. THANK YOU

Champagne Party Girls

Leave it to Aleksandra, Gigi and Angeline to start a party in a Pothole.  After a five hour drive from Montreal to Toronto we only had a few hours to find a perfect pothole for our  Champagne scene.
The girls got their hair and makeup done by Domenico&Drea at Novo Spa in Yorkville and got all dolled up with dresses from Brazen Hussy
All we had to do was bring out the Champagne and snap away!

Alice in Potholeland

Our latest photo is Alice in Wonderland on 30th Street, New York City.  The idea came naturally to use a pothole as Alice’s portal to wonderland after being inspired by Tim Burton's unique 3D rendition of the Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic.

We were nervous to shoot in the streets of Manhattan because of the overwhelming traffic but took comfort in the fact that we only had one prop in the scene; the white rabbit. We took turns shooting and redirecting traffic while our Alice made heads turn as she ran after the white rabbit.

MyPotholes Show Opening NYC

MyPotholes NYC opening reception at the SOHO PHOTO gallery was great!

Seeing people's reactions to our work was wonderful, mostly smiles and laughter.

Some guests were astonished to hear that we do not photoshop the props into the scenes, but that everything is actually set in and around the pothole.

After the show we took the party over to Keste , for delicious pizza & vino with family and friends.
(see pics below)

**We would like to thank the gallery members for such a warm welcome and a special thanks to Paul for his help and kindness.

Baywatch on Amalfi, Los Angeles

For the Baywatch scene, we found the perfect potholes on Amalfi crescent in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. We loved this location because the deep pothole located in the middle of the road was ideal for the look we had in mind.  The next morning we set up while our model Ania slipped into the classic red one piece.  Cyclists, passerby's and drivers slowed down and laughed at the sight of a lifeguard running toward the drowning victim.

This morning we shot the last shot of our Los Angeles pothole series and it was AMAZING !!! Everything worked as planned and Ania, our model, was incredible!!! She totally got into character and was a pleasure to work with. We now have the challenge of choosing only ONE picture from the lot!!!

Props in our POTHOLES

Props are an essential component to most of our POTHOLES scenes, which is why we visited a very cool prop house today for our upcoming shot. The aisles were filled with items ranging from vintage microphones to European antiques from different eras and countries.

Here a a few pictures from our visit:
